The CSA boxes keep coming, and the zucchini, patty pan squash, and cucumbers are piling up. Deep breath, and I dive right in. I made some quick-pack zucchini pickles, bread and butter pickles, and a basic pickling brine for the sliced patty pan squash.
I am getting the hang of this canning, developing my own system of preparation, packing, and cleaning. Husband has been helping this weekend, and asking lots of questions. He is also great for the “oh no! I need more ____!” Fill in the blank with whatever ingredient you find yourself running short of.
Now I need to prepare myself for yet more cucumbers from our humble little garden.
And of course the tomatoes…oh those tomatoes…
