Lost in my thoughts and worries, I hurried my way up the hill toward toward the office. I have struggled to find my center these days. Work and personal worries have been competing for my attention and the thoughts were flitting through my mind like a pesky swarm of mosquitos…
And then something tugged at my attention. It was a sweet aroma reminding me of the warm summer days of my childhood. Those were the endless days of summer spent biking, swimming, and sleeping late. Childhood days when I had few worries.
I looked up and returned to the present moment. Once again mindful, I realized I was standing on the sidewalk between two small oceans of clover, the late afternoon sun illuminating each white blossom. The sweet fragrance of summer enveloped me.
I inhaled deeply. I smiled.
And in that one small moment, my day was transformed.
With mindfulness, you can establish yourself in the present in order to touch the wonders of life that are available in that moment.
Wishing you mindful joy in your daily moments.
