Sage – Salvia officinalis

Sage is a favorite among herbalists for hot flashes. Fresh or dried leaves, simple culinary sage can be made into a tea, although it is quite astringent, and is best combined with other herbs. Research has shown the benefits of sage for hot flashes. (source)

How to Make an Herbal Tea for Hot Flashes

This tea can be enjoyed warm or iced! Because I grow my herbs, I used fresh for this photo, but the recipe is for dried herbs, which work just as well. The hibiscus roselle will give a lovely reddish-pink tint to your tea.

Ingredients:

  • 2 parts fresh or dried sage 
  • 2 parts fresh or dried mint  
  • *optional – 1 part – lemon balm,  or dried hibiscus roselle
  • Honey or stevia to taste 

Directions:

Combine the herbs and prepare an infusion: for each 1 teaspoon of herbs use 1 cup of boiling water, and steep for 30 minutes. Strain and drink 1-2 cups throughout the day as needed.
